The Rough Guide to Australia - world authority on travel
" In a great position in trendy (and quieter) part of Potts Point
and with helpful staff, this converted mansion is sunny, airy,
brightly painted and tastefully furnished. One of the best points is
the huge courtyard garden out back with wooden furniture and big
shady trees”
The Ultimate Guide to Australia
" We have featured the Blue Parrot in the list of the best hostels
in Sydney as we believe that it offers exceptional quality
accommodation for budget travelers. This is a very nice hostel
definitely one of the best in the Kings Cross-area. It is very clean
and most of the facilities are brand new. Excellent - one of the
best hostels in Sydney. Excellent security"

Customer: John Floeng (Norway) Arrival date: 7 March 2010 If you go to Sydney you have to visit the Opera
House and the Blue Parrot.
Customer: Ashley Simpson (Canada) Arrival date: 1 March 2010 This is THE place to go if you're a single
traveller... it was my first time travelling alone and I was really
nervous, but the community feel of this hostel really encouraged
people to chat with each other... ended up meeting many new friends.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in.
The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming and have established an
atmosphere conducive to all things that make travelling so great. If
you want to meet like-minded people in a fun, social, and outgoing
setting, this is the perfect place.

It's like a huge family there. Such a great place to
meet people, and there's always something going on. Close to Kings
Cross so you can go out, but not so close you're woken up every
night by people outside. I loved it!

I had a great time at the Blue Parrot!
Everything was exactly like a hostel in Sydney should be: close to
everything; Opera House, Downtown, Botanical Gardens, Ferries,
King's Cross, and more. The staff answered all of the many questions
I had. They even let me use a bike to cruise around the city for
free. I will stay there again next time I'm in Sydney.
Customer: Mike Heldoorn (USA) Arrival date: 29 November 2009 A great place to stay while in Sydney. Staff is very nice and
accommodating. they have whatever you need. high speed internet and
large leather couches in the lounging area. Location is phenomenal
and best hostel of the 4 that I stayed in while visiting Sydney.
Very safe and staff went out of their way to make sure that our
group knew what to do every night to ensure a good time. no bugs, no
weird people and everyone from different countries had fun together.
I would definitely stay there again!

This is an incredibly easy place to meet people. The common room is
comfortable and cosy and Woolworth ’s
supermarket is 30 seconds away. The staff were hugely helpful, very
friendly and a lot of fun. The Halloween party was fantastic. Top
hostel!
Customer: Jennifer Zezelic (Canada) Arrival date: 22 October 2009 Smaller hostel with great set-up of the whole house to facilitate
lovely social atmosphere. Good mix of short and long term travellers
gives a great vibe to the hostel, both party and cosy comfortable
atmosphere. Located down the street from Kings Cross, walkable to
tonnes of clubs and also to opera house/harbour bridge with great
scenic views. Good kitchen facilities and outdoor patio lovely for
evenings outside with dinner and drinks. Rooms are incredibly quiet
in 10 bed dorms. Stay here!!
Customer: Annabelle Raclot (France) Arrival date: 14 October 2009 Best place I've been to on my RTW trip. The staff is super friendly
and helpful they make you feel at home straight away. Great family
atmosphere very appreciated when at the other side of the world.
Also very clean and secure. Congrats. I'll be back
Customer: Berit Lindpere (Estonia) Arrival date: 12 October 2009 The most fun I have had at a hostel in OZ since I started travelling
four months ago. The place has such a great atmosphere, due to the
people but also the backpackers itself, the huge lounge with tv and
net, the inner courtyard and all. Highly recommend.

I had a great time at the Blue Parrot, it was everything I hoped it
would be, small, friendly and a great starting point when first
arriving in Australia. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and
the location is in a very nice area with easy access to the city. I
would recommend the Blue Parrot to any backpacker looking for a
place to stay in Sydney and I will definitely return.
Customer: Jennifer Bowman (UK) Arrival date: 9 September 2009
Fun, clean hostel with friendly people. Great tv room with free
internet and books. It is only a few minutes walk to Kings Cross
Station so very easy to get to Bondi beach.
